Vet day

Tripawds is a user-supported community. Thank you for your support!UPDATE: I added the results from the vet visit in the comments section of this post. I posted in the forums about this but realized I hadn’t updated the blog about it. Today is vet day … We were originally scheduled for chemo but I emailed […]

A sick and twisted game.

Tripawds is a user-supported community. Thank you for your support!I’m worried for my baby girl. The growth on the roof of her mouth is definitely getting bigger. It’s growing downwards and is almost as low as her back top teeth. I fear that soon it will affect her ability to eat, or even to close […]

Food games

For a few days after her Doxorubicin treatments (of which she’s had 2 so far), Roxy seems to lose her appetite. This article by Sassy’s mom Michelle basically covers what we go through for those few days. Here’s how our feeding routine seems to go. I can’t help but feel like she’s just messing with […]

Not the greatest news.

It’s been a while … Mostly because I have a hard time bringing myself to talk about it because the news just seems to get worse. I posted in the forums a little while ago with this news, but I guess I should also update the blog. We got some disheartening news from the mouth […]

Update from surgery

Yesterday, we went in to meet with the surgeon about the lymph node removal and mouth biopsies. I asked them to take chest x-rays first, since it would have been around now that her mid-point x-rays would have been if there had been no chemo delays (of which there were two). I asked them to […]

More surgery? Really??

I’m getting really tired, and I barely have the energy or heart to talk about this stuff these days. But I feel I should update you guys… I took Roxy in to the vet again, because her mouth thing seems to be getting worse, and along with it, the jaw shaking, and enlarged lymph nodes. […]

Back from Chicago

Well I’m back from Chicago and it seems Roxy had a lovely time at her Aunt Liz’s. I had a great time, but I missed my baby girl terribly! Roxy’s doing great. After the vet just before we left, her back leg seemed very weak and I figure she must have slipped on the slippery […]

Chemo delay. Vacation for mom… probably.

Despite reducing her dosage, Roxy’s WBC was low again today and they were unable to do her scheduled chemo. We are scheduled again for next week. I guess the good news about that is that I am planning on going to Chicago tomorrow and her sitter won’t have to deal with any possible chemo side […]

We heard back from the vet today. The mouth ulceration they found last week turned out to be benign, and same with her lymph nodes, which seemed to be fighting off the infection in her mouth. The not-so-great news is that they don’t really know what it is, and to treat it, we’d have to […]

Minor (I hope!) setback

Roxy’s second chemo session was supposed to be today. We dropped her off and I proceeded to work from home. Around lunchtime, I got a call from the vet. She had a couple of things to mention: 1. Roxy’s white blood cell count was still low from the last treatment, so we’ll have to delay […]
